The “Jonathan Branch” probably
descended from Thomas Calensowe, who was christened at Madron on the 1st
September in 1614. He was described as the base son of Jane. Jane may have been
the daughter of Alan, who had children in Ludgvan between 1568 and 1593. A Jane
Colensowe was buried in Madron on
There is a Jonathan Kalenson (son of Thomas) christened in Paul in 1655, probably the same man who married Katherene in 1688. In his will probated in 1708, he was described as a mariner on HM Ship the “Abound”, and named his sister Ann as his executor.
